Brand:  Miñato da Raña 2014; first vintage: 2014.

Zone: Laderas del Miño.

Grapes: 60 % mencía, 30% garnacha tintorera y 10% others.

Plot:  A Raña; more than 100 years old vines. Organic farming.

Exposure: facing to the south.

Soil: granite, on slopes looking towards the river.

2014 vintage: Spring rainy and warm; cool summer; late maturing, with rain in harvest. Harvest was held on 11 and 27 September.

Vinification: Clusters selected by hand in the vineyards. Quickly transported to the winery in  15 kg crates. Foot-trodden in open 600 liter French oak barrels with 100% whole-clusters included. Fermented with wild yeasts in open 600 liter French oak barrels. Raised in used 500 liter French oak for 8 months with no racking. No stabilization or clarification.

Bottled: july 2015.

Production: 563 bottles.
