Brand:  Nanclares 2016; first vintage: 1997.

Appellation: Salnes; Rías Baixas

Grape: 100 % albariño.

Plots:  Plots Soverribas, Facho, Tomada de Juana , Albarellos, Gandarela, Freixido and Senra; 30 to 40 years old vines, trained in the traditional Pergola style .

Exposure: Plot Soverribas faces to the notheast; rest of the plots face to the southwest.

Soil: granitic, sandy soils.

2016 vintage: Warm winter. Early sprout (late February) then vegetative break by a drop in temperature. Hot summer with temperatures above 30ºC that caused hydric stress. Very fast ripening . Beginning of harvest on September 7.

Vinification: Clusters selected by hand in the vineyards. Quickly transported to the winery in 15 kg crates. The grapes were not destemmed before going into a pneumatic press for a low pressure pressing. Static settling for 36 hours. Fermented and raised in small steel vats and in 2 barrels of used French oak (2008) of 500 liters (Demptos) for 9 months. Bottled with modest levels of SO2 and without clarification.

Bottled: May, 31 and June, 7 2017.

Production: 4.493 bottles and 30 magnums.
